Gillberga whiskey

The early years

The history of Gillberga whiskey begin in the 4'th century when the

destillation practice came to Scandinavia from the frequent contacts

that the people had to the east. The spirits that was made in the

early years were a strong and fiery liquid used both for medicinal

purposes as for drinking.

In the 5'th and 6'th century the destillation

practise spread to new territories and also

to the kingdom of Wermland where the first

whiskey were produced and used in both

religious meetings and by the kings of

Wermland as the best of drinks you could

offer your guests.
